excuses up the wazzoo
I've got excuses too: on my day off, when I should be job hunting, or calling the contact of an acquaintance to "network", suddenly the apartment needs to be cleaned, laundry put in washers, the cats groomed, groceries shopped for, books returned to library, etc., or reading and writing on blogs...the biggest thing holding me back is myself (plus I hate talking on the phone and hate calling strangers even more).

Maybe we should schedule a day that we can all meet and work on things. Maybe a resume day where we take a look at each others' resumes and bring three job openings that we are considering applying for? Knowing that other people are counting on me is a huge motivator.
that's a nice idea...I have a tendency to bookmark job openings and then put it off and end up not applying for them...having someone ask me about them would probably help...we can also talk about things that have helped us (from books, from people, realizations...)...so any day is good for me except Friday, and Thursday.
